AWL Week 1 Power Rankings
⁃ Brendon Discher
1. Lakeview Lightning⚡️ Record: 2-0 Last week: 3
The Lakeview Lightning was powered by Garner Collum this week, as he was practically their only source of offense and also dominated on the mound. Garner Collum pitched 6 scoreless innings and also knocked in 5 runs at the plate. Hayes was good in the field as we thought, but at the plate, he swung at a lot of pitches he shouldn't of. The same could be said for Noah, as not only did he swing at bad pitches, he missed almost every good pitch too. Assuming Garner doesn't have a monster week every week, Hayes and Noah will have to step up to keep this team at the top.
2. Hillside Hornets 🐝 Record: 1-3 Last week: 2
The Hillside Hornets were disappointing on the fielding side and the hitting side. Hudson pitched good, but the defensive struggles hurt and he had not much run support. Baxter hit alright, and Levi hit well, but just right at people. Hudson didn't hit terrible either. The hitting was not contagious and that was the issue. The Hornets look for a bounce back week against the Cavaliers next week, and for every aspect.
3. Coastal Cavaliers 🗡️ Record: 1-1 Last week: 1
The Coastal Cavaliers struggled against Hudson, with Thomas' homerun being almost all of the runs they scored. The won one game, but the Hornets deflated themselves. Alistair was good on the mound, after taking Windsor's place in game 1, but a lot of the issue was the Hornets screwing themselves into the ground. The Cavs look for stronger offsensive production next week, as it's their turn to play 2 series next week.
